Part 1: Permaculture Practices Webinar
Join us for an informative webinar where we'll explore how permaculture can create a thriving garden ecosystem. Learn from Laurie Lockwood's experience in Canterbury, where permaculture methods have added health, resilience, and biodiversity to the property. Topics to be covered will include use of hugelculture, building fungal networks, companion planting, integrating perennials, shrubs, and trees into food plantings, using groundcovers and windbreaks, assessing microclimates, and managing rainfall effectively. We'll also talk about increasing native plants for pollinators and wildlife, and managing invasive species. Through permaculture, you can mitigate environmental extremes and improve the health of your soil, leading to more productive crops with natural resistance to pests and disease.
Laurie will be leading a follow up session in person at her property in Canterbury. You must register for that program seperately. You are not required to attend both sessions to participate in the webinar or in person session. Spots are limited to 20 people for the in person session.
Laurie Lockwood has been gardening for 40 years, practicing permaculture for the last ten. She lives and gardens in Canterbury, with a raised bed garden and fruit plantings that include hardy kiwis and pawpaw trees, as well as a flock of laying hens. Sharing knowledge, joy in nature, and fresh food right out of the garden are some of her passions.
