Funding Opportunities for Farmers

NOFA-NH Farmer Resilience Fund

NOFA-NH provides valuable funding opportunities for farmers primarily through grants aimed at supporting sustainable farming practices and offering emergency relief. These grants help farmers improve their operations, adopt organic methods, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of their businesses. Beyond financial assistance, NOFA-NH also offers guidance in navigating funding sources, helping farmers identify and access the most relevant programs. This support ensures farmers are well-equipped to apply for funding and successfully secure financial backing for their projects.

Many New Hampshire farmers have faced a number of challenges in recent growing seasons due to frost, freeze, and flood events. In order to best support our Granite State community of small family farmers, NOFA-NH has established a Farmer Resilience Fund. We welcome all New Hampshire farmers to apply to receive funding in order to make up for some losses they have experienced.

NOFA-NH’s Farmer Resilience Grant

2025 Recipients

April 25, 2025 – This winter, the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire (NOFA-NH) provided 18 New Hampshire farms with over $29,000 in mini-grants to implement climate smart projects, assist with organic cost share reimbursement, and support farms in need of disaster relief.

Mini-grants helped fund climate resilience projects such as assisting with the funding of cover crop seeds, compost, soil testing, mineral nutrition, drip irrigation improvements, high tunnel purchases and installations, walk in cooler enhancements, water catchment systems, tools and equipment, and more. Disaster relief was provided to farms that experienced damages to their operations in 2024, including crop losses resulting from increased humidity, soil damage due to excessive rain fall, and damage from high winds. Organic cost share reimbursement for small-scale certified organic farmers was additionally provided.

NOFA-NH’s Farmer Resilience Fund is intended to help organic and transitioning-to-organic farmers build resilience to mitigate the effects of climate change and to aid any New Hampshire farm in need of disaster relief.

Farms that received mini-grants included: Alprilla Farm, Bascom Farm, Brandmoore Farm, Concord Bee Company, Full Moon Farm NH, Gemmo Forest, Greenhill Farm, Kearsarge Gore Farm, Knife and Plow Farm, Marimark Farms, Megan Greene, NOK Vino, Pack Mountain Farm, Pork Hill Farm, Provision Farm, The Laurels Farm, Two Mountain Farm, and Wild Fern Farm.

NOFA-NH’s 2024 Farmer Resilience Fund was made possible by a grant from the You Have Our Trust Fund. The organization is currently fundraising to continue the Farmer Resilience Fund in 2025. Donations can be made to the fund directly at www.nofanh.org/donate.
