Invasive Plant Species Webinar Series
With invasive plant species growing into an increasingly complicated challenge, the Carroll, Coos, and Grafton County Conservation Districts have teamed up to provide a month of invasive plant species education. In this free webinar series, experts from across the state will share with you their knowledge and stories.
Each webinar runs from 5:00-6:00 pm and will center on state professionals with time for questions. Sign up for one or for all—these offerings are customizable based on your interests:
1/8: Milfoil and More! A deep-dive on milfoil removal with the Squam Lakes Association, coupled with a presentation from UNH Extension providing background on bittersweet, autumn olive, and buckthorn.
1/15: Roundleaf Bittersweet Wendy Scribner, Carroll County Forester, and licensed pesticide applicator from Keep it Natural in an interactive presentation on rooting out the pesky plant.
1/22: Japanese Knotweed What is Japanese Knotweed and why is it a problem? We’ll find the answer to these questions with UNH Forestry Field Specialist Mike Gagnon, before diving into a case study on knotweed removal with the Campton Conservation Commission.
1/29: Expert Insights Such stubborn problems require creative solutions. In this session, we will learn about NRCS programs and engaging volunteers in invasive plant removal workdays with Nature Groupie.
