Workshop Proposal Details
NOFA conferences bring together a wide audience of people involved in our food network. We are seeking speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their knowledge, perspectives, and experiences. We aim for topics and formats that build new skills, provide pertinent information, encourage collaboration, create fun/joy, and ultimately build community and positively impact our food network. The goal is to have a mix of topics, formats, speakers, and content skill level to create a holistic learning experience.
Example Topics: Beginning Farmer Techniques, Intermediate/Advanced Farmer Techniques, Home Growing Techniques, Farm Business Practices, Organic Certification, Permaculture, Sustainable Farming, Regenerative Farming, Agriculture Funding Opportunities, Mental health, Climate Resilience/Adaptation, Equity and Justice in the Food System, Community Development , Food System Infrastructure, Marketing, Agriculture Education, Farm to School, Physical Health for Farmers, & Agriculture Technology.
Offerings will take place in a variety of spaces, which may include classrooms, large meeting rooms, or open areas. While every space will have chairs and A/V equipment (such as a projector and screen), not all rooms will have tables available for every participant. Some spaces may allow for limited rearrangement of furniture to suit the needs of the session.
All selected presenters will receive a complementary ticket to the Winter Conference and lunch (a ~$125 value) as well as a choice of a $100 speaker honorarium, one year membership, or to donate your honorarium to NOFA-NH. We have limited funding available to cover presenter honorariums (and/or any additional costs) but we also understand that this stipend structure may not work for everyone. If the proposed structure prohibits you from participating, we’d love to connect more to discuss an alternative that might work better.
