The CRAFT of Farming: An Update from Brookford Farm

The first farm tour of the season, kicking off our CRAFT Program at Brookford Farm on June 1st, was inspiring! Established and beginning farmers discussed topics ranging from their experiences with various methods of organic dairy, vegetable, pork and poultry production, to marketing, cover crops, electrical fencing, tools, and more. The tour was part of our CRAFT Program (Collaborative Regional Alliances for Farmer Training) showcasing places where real, local organic foods are being raised. These events are FREE to NOFA-NH members, Farmers and Farm Workers. Tickets: $5 per person, $10 per family. All proceeds go to the hosting farms. Registration Required. Next Tours: August 3 and October 5th.

Where Do the Presidential Candidates Stand on Food and Farming?

Civil Eats is tracking where the 2020 presidential candidates stand on food and farming. “Food and farming haven’t been high on the list of campaign priorities in recent decades, except maybe in Iowa. But this year, that appears to be shifting. With the pivotal role that rural voters played in the 2016 election firmly in mind, many presidential candidates are zooming in to address the challenges that abound in today’s farm country.
